Chapter One
Introduction to Functions

Additional Resources

Solutions to Problems (Exercise 1J)    (pdf)
Worked solutions to the Problems in Exercise 1J in the textbook. The file starts with a section on Learning to Solve Problems. All of the solutions to problems in this textbook series will also have a 'Hints' page. Since this is students' first exposure to problems of this type, the hints are not subtle.

Additional Problems   (pdf)
These problems are more challenging than those in the textbook. For students aiming for top marks, putting in the considerable effort needed to solve them will be rewarded in the long term. The solutions will be made available to teachers on the mailing list.

Another Form of the Linear Function   (pdf)
An investigation of a non-standard form of the linear equation.
